Highland Games for Hawick this Saturday

The third annual Hawick Highland Games and Pipe Band Championships will take place on Saturday, 3 June at the town's Volunteer Park.
The event promises to be a fun-packed family day, with pipe band competitions, highland dancing and traditional feats of strength such as tossing the caber, throwing the hammer and putting the shot. There will also be a tug-of-war.
The action starts at 12 noon. Tickets cost £3, with concessions £2 and children admitted free.
