Roads and Pavements
The Council is responsible for the management and maintenance of all public roads in the Borders, with the exception of trunk roads, which are managed by a management contractor that works on behalf of the Scottish Executive. Check the following links to see which roads are trunk roads and which are council-maintained.

If you know of a problem anywhere on the road network (except on a trunk road - see above) you can report a road defect to one of our area offices or for minor day-to-day issues, contact SBLocal. You can also enquire about the Council's policy on road management and maintenance.
