Waste Collection

Refuse CollectionThe Council's Cleansing Service is responsible for the collection of domestic and commercial waste and its transportation to waste disposal sites. We collect domestic refuse and materials for recycling from over 52,000 households and commercial waste from over 2900 premises. We will also uplift large or awkward objects for you for a small charge.

If you need to find out when waste is collected from your area, or if you have any other enquiry regarding collections, please contact our Cleansing Service by e-mail or ring 01835 825111.

Alternatively you can take your general domestic waste to a Community Recycling Centre or local disposal point yourself.

Please note that there is a charge for some of the services described above. Where this is the case, you can find out how much it will cost by seeing our current Fees and Charges that cover all chargeable services offered by the Technical Services Department.

See some Frequently Asked Questions on Refuse Collection.
