2006 Floral Gateway Competition Results

The 2006 competition awards were held at Scottish Borders Council headquarters in Newtown St Boswells.  Councillor David Paterson helped to award the prizes for the sixth Floral Gateway competition.   There were 17 entries.

 

The results were as follows:

 

Town Class

1st    Galashiels         

2nd   Jedburgh           

3rd    Hawick

 

Large Village Class

1st    Melrose             

2nd   West Linton       

3rd    Coldstream

 

Small Village Class

1st    Broughton (picture shows Tom Shearer's Garden)    

2nd   Eddleston          

3rd    Greenlaw

 

Wee Village Class

1st    Gavinton            

2nd   Bowden 

3rd    Morebattle

 

Melrose and Galashiels were also finalists for the national Beautiful Scotland in Bloom competition.
