Abandoned Vehicles

The Council have powers under the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978 and the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986 to deal with vehicles, which in their opinion are in such a condition that they ought to be destroyed i.e. they are abandoned.

In some instances vehicles can be removed within 24 hours of notification, and others may take slightly longer.  Should you have an abandoned vehicle you wish the council to deal with, you should contact the Council's Customer Services team.
