Borders Aspergers and Autism Group Support

BAAGS is a local Borders' charity supporting adults and children who have Aspergers Syndrome, Autism and related behaviours.  It is run by volunteer parents and people who work with autistic children.  Their aim is to:

  • offer support, encouragement and hope
  • raise awareness of the behaviours of Aspergers Syndrome and Autism
  • raise awareness of the stress resulting from a lack of knowledge
  • offer members and their families a social life
  • give the opportunity for ‘everyone’ to live a ‘normal’ life.

The group offers a varied programme of informal evenings, organised speakers and social events.  This includes a regular meeting on the last Monday of every month in Melrose.
