British Red Cross

The British Red Cross is part of a global voluntary network, and provides services locally to help people prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities.  The services offered in the Borders include:

  • transport and escort service
  • loan of medical equipment e.g. wheelchairs
  • first aid at events
  • therapeutic care
  • skin camouflage
  • humanitarian education for children and young people.

Volunteers will help people in their own homes following an illness or hospital stay.  They can help with shopping, collecting prescriptions or just being there for company.
