Services for people with dementia
Borders Dementia Strategy
Scottish Borders has a higher number of older people than other areas in Scotland and this number is set to increase over the next ten years. We are also experiencing an increase each year in the number of people presenting with dementia, estimated to increase to 5% yearly by 2015. Looking ahead to the future care and support needs of people with dementia, Scottish Borders Council and NHS Borders have developed the Borders Dementia Strategy in partnership with Alzheimer Scotland and Borders Voluntary Community Care Forum. The document sets out the key objectives of the Council and NHS Borders over the next 10 years.
