Residential Care Homes

Social Work Services provide six residential care homes for older people (65 and over) across the Borders.  These are located in Eyemouth, Kelso, Hawick, Galashiels, Innerleithen and Peebles.

Although our homes vary in design and layout, we aim to create a warm, homely atmosphere in each.  Residents are encouraged to bring their own possessions and items of furniture so that they can really feel at home.  We recognise that individuals are unique with different tastes and preferences and we try to support individual needs wherever possible.

Staff are trained to give help and assistance when required, and to respect residents' independence where people are confident in doing things for themselves.  We encourage residents to continue with their life interests - and with a little help and assistance, to do what they enjoy doing.
