Choose Life Suicide Intervention Training

Choose Life is a national strategy and action plan aimed at addressing the rising rate of suicide in Scotland.  A number of services have been established through local Choose Life funding, including the following training courses which are offered free of charge to anyone living or working in Scottish Borders:

  • ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) is a two day course which provides participants with a model to have the confidence to help a person with suicidal thoughts.

  • SMHFA (Scotland's Mental Health First Aid) provides participants with the skills to help people experiencing mental health problems.
