Services for refugees and people seeking asylum and refugees

To support asylum seekers and refugees, we have:

  • identified asylum seekers and refugees as specific groups requiring our immediate attention in our homeless and associated strategies
  • reinstated our membership of Cosla Refugees and Asylum Seekers Consortium
  • arranged for joint training on our asylum seeker and refugee responsibilities.

Our priorities:

  • to continue working with our partners in the Cosla Refugees and Asylum Seekers Consortium in providing an accessible, responsive service to asylum seekers and refugees who may be homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • to review our homelessness and associated strategies in a manner that reflects and positively responds to demands made on our services by asylum seekers and refugees
  • to work with our partners and wider society in ensuring that asylum seekers and refugees contribute to sustainable and balanced communities
  • overall, to work with our partners in ensuring that where we signpost asylum seekers and refugees, they are treated with respect and in a fair and equitable fashion within a tolerant and empathetic culture.

How do I get a service?

If you are a refugee, or asylum seeker facing homelessness, you can contact our Homelessness Service or contact your local Social Work office.
