Bright New Futures

" All children and young people in Scottish Borders should have the best possible start in life regardless of their family background"

Bright New Futures Strategy, 2004

The Bright New Futures Strategy (2004) presents a vision for the future.  It shows how agencies can work together to plan and deliver services for all children and young people, including times when extra support is needed.

The Integrated Children and Young People's Services Plan (2005) begins to map out how this vision can be achieved.  One of the key priorities is to manage and deliver services locally.  Locality Integration Teams are now established in five locality areas.  Read the complete plan or, alternatively you can view the summarised version.

The Children's Change Group is the force driving the vision.  It is made up of senior staff from:

Borders Voluntary Youth Work Forum
Lothian and Borders Police
NHS Borders
SBC - Education & Lifelong Learning
Scottish Children's Reporter Administration
Voluntary Agencies
