Temporary Waste Disposal Facilities

In addition to the Community Recycling Centres at Duns, Eshiels, Eyemouth, Galshiels, Hawick and Selkirk, you can take your household general waste, free of charge, to facilities at: 

Kelso Knowes car park, available between 9-00am and 11-00am on the following dates:

5th April 14th June 23rd August 1st November 24th January 09
19th April 28th June 6th September 15th November 7th February 09
3rd May 12th July 20th September 29th November 21st February 09
17th May 26th July 4th October 13th December 7th March 09
31st May 9th August 18th October 10th January 09 21st March 09

Newcastleton Village car park, available between 9-00am and 11-00am on the following dates:

12th April 12th July 11th October 10th January 09
10th May 9th August 8th November 14th March 09
14th June 13th September 13th December 14th March 09

Jedburgh Lothian car park, available between 9-00am and 11-00am on the following dates:

19th April 19th July 18th October 17th January 09
17th May 16th August 15th November 21st February 09
21st June 20th September 20th December 21st March 09

Lauder Castlewynd, available between 8-00am and 11-00am on the following dates:

5th April 14th June 23rd August 1st November 24th January 09
19th April 28th June 6th September 15th November 7th February 09
3rd May 12th July 20th September 29th November 21st February 09
17th May 26th July 4th October 13th December 7th March 09

Please note that these facilities are not for commercial or trade waste disposal.

You can download a leaflet in pdf format showing these details.

The Council offers a special collection service for large household items including mattresses, sofas, and fridges or freezers. There is a charge for this service.

Remember:

It is an offence to dump rubbish in any part of the Scottish Borders
