Special offer for composters

Waste Aware Scottish Borders
Composters

Borders gardeners have taken to home composting in a big way. To encourage everyone to compost as much as possible, the Council has teamed up with the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP), to offer low-cost compost bins. On offer are composters of different shapes to suit all types of gardens. They can be ordered here.

The tie-up with WRAP means Borders gardeners now have an additional source of advice on home composting. The Waste Aware Scotland website is full of information about all types of composting from tips on dealing with grass cuttings to siting your bin. Schools in the Scottish Borders can also receive home composting bins if they invite WRAP’s home composting advisor to give a class talk. Call WRAP on 0845 600 0323.

Composting advice is also available from our local compost expert Dave Allan of ASK Organic on 01450 860778. ASK Organic’s website has comprehensive guidance on home composting.
