Rural Partnership
The Scottish Borders Rural Partnership (SBRP) comprises 23 agencies working together and with rural communities to improve the quality of life, services and the environment our area.
The Partnership’s "vision" is to develop integrated, informed, innovative, involved and sustainable communities throughout the Scottish Borders.
Key priorities for the Partnership are to:
- Make sure that issues of concern to rural communities are raised and addressed
- Increase the confidence and self esteem of the rural settlements and "interest groups" of the Scottish Borders, particularly those "excluded "from participation by reason of isolation, social disadvantage, age or other factors
- Make best use of resources
- Ensure that information is shared between partners and rural communities
The SBRP is the decision making group of the current Leader+ programme of the Scottish Borders which provides funds for communities and agencies to make best use of the major assets of the region: land, culture, water and wood.
