Comment on the Draft Core Paths Plan

Scottish Borders Council has to ensure that the Draft Core Paths Plan is available for the public to comment on over a period of 12 weeks under the Land Reform (Scotland) 2003. This is called formal public consultation.

We have already undertaken the final round of the formal consultation across the region which has identified where communities think candidate core paths should be.

Scottish Borders Council aims to integrate core paths appropriately and sensitively into the working landscape. We have consulted widely and taken on board many views from farmers and other land managers, landowners, recreational users (walkers, cyclists, horse-riders, canoeists, etc), residents or visitors to the area.

We are also holding core path meetings where to can discuss any issues with the Outdoor Access Team and make formal comments.

Once your comments are submitted, what happens next?
