Historic Sites: what use do we make of them?

Historic processes play an important role in helping to understand wider issues, such as the causes and effects of climatic change. That is one reason why historic sites must be examined and recorded with as little damage as possible. They provide useful information about the past in a way that cannot be gained by any other means.

These sites also have a wide appeal to the public and have an important role in education. Interpretation of the past is a major part of our work particularly through museums, interpreted sites, publications, events and our web site.
