Scottish Borders Libraries welcomes babies, children and young people into all its libraries and mobile libraries

Each library has a special children’s section with a range of items for loan.
There are books for all ages including

  • baby books
  • story and picture book
  • early readers
  • information books
  • teenage books
  • teenage magazines

Libraries also stock story tapes, videos, CDs and DVDs. Library staff are there to help.

It’s FREE to join, by completing a form at the library,
and FREE to borrow books and tapes, with a small charge for other items such as Videos, DVDs or Music CDs.

Children can borrow up to 10 books and keep them for 3 weeks. Other items may have a shorter loan period

There are spaces to sit and read, reference books, databases and online sites to help with studying and homework.

PC use including the internet, is free but children must have permission from you specifying what they can use. You must read the Acceptable Use Policy and sign the back of the membership form.
Remember be aware of Internet Safety

Libraries organise special events such as holiday activities and story times.

Information on activities and events is available at all local libraries.
