Cultural Co-ordinator Programme

The 2007-09 Cultural Co-ordinator Programme is funded by the Scottish Government and managed by the Scottish Arts Council. It is a second, enhanced phase of the Cultural Co-ordinators in Scottish schools initiative which was established to offer opportunities for young people (both within and out with school hours) to see and take part in a broad range of cultural experiences including the performing and creative arts, literature, heritage, moving image and architecture.
Who are we?
Scottish Borders Council has a team of three Cultural Co-ordinators.
Cultural Co-ordinator Manager - Lisa Denham
As manager of the Cultural Co-ordinator team Lisa will be building key strategic networks and partnership working, and will
liaise closely with the Scottish Arts Council to monitor and evaluate the programme.

Cultural Co-ordinator (Moving image) - Mary Morrison
Mary will work closely with primary and secondary schools in the Borders to enhance their use and knowledge of moving image
resources in the classroom. There will also be support for the development of demonstration projects – for example using archive
film footage, using projected footage in live drama performances etc. A Film Education Programme will be developed not only
in schools, but also in local cinemas, art centres, museums and galleries.
