Council tax payments
Council tax is normally payable in 10 monthly instalments (minimum £5) payable on the 1st of each month from April to January inclusive, with extra payment dates available if you decide to pay by Direct Debit.
If monthly instalments are shown on the bill, you may as an alternative, make payment of council tax in a single amount. Details of the single payment amount and due date are shown on your bill.
It is essential that payments are made on or before the due date.
You may of course pay your council tax in advance of the due date. You must not, however, allow your payments to fall into arrears.
Payments
We offer various ways for you to pay:
Direct Debit
The easiest way to set up a Direct Debit is to fill in our online form or telephone Customer Services.
Forms are also available to download for council tax which you can print, complete, and return to us or alternatively a Direct Debit form is usually issued along with your bill.
You can now pay your council tax by Direct Debit weekly every Friday or monthly in either 10 or 12 instalments on 1st, 5th, 15th or 25th or the month. Or in a lump sum on 1st of the month following receipt of your completed Direct Debit mandate.
