Recent changes to Housing and Council Tax Benefit
From 2 November 2009 families who receive Child Benefit may be entitled to more help with their rent or Council Tax.

Ready to apply?
If you are not entitled to Council Tax Benefit but you share your home with one or more adults who have a low income, you
may still be entitled to help to pay your Council Tax. This is called Second Adult Rebate.
From 7th April 2008 Local Housing Allowance (LHA) was introduced. This is a new scheme which changes the way we pay Housing Benefit for most private sector tenants.
