Scottish Government Model Scheme

The Models below were developed by a Working Group before being circulated for consultation last year.  Graeme Donald, Chair of Scottish Borders Community Councils’ Network Executive, and Clare Malster, Community Engagement Officer, Scottish Borders Council were members of the working group and ensured that the Borders perspective was taken into account throughout the discussions.

Scottish Borders Council carried out a review of the local Scheme in 2006/2007 following an information gathering exercise undertaken by the then Scottish Executive.  The results of the Scottish Executive work indicated that what was already happening in the Borders to be good practice and in line with the recommendations coming forward.  As a result of this we felt confident starting the local review at that point.
