Life in the Border Image

Wood

       

  • The diversification and strengthening of farm businesses through the use of woodland or wood products developed from or on the property
  • The improvement of the physical and safety environment of woodland for visitors, particularly women with young children and the disabled
  • The research and piloting of wood as a fuel for local combined heat and/or power projects
  • The promotion and marketing of Borders’ branded wood products
  • Enabling local communities to celebrate and interpret woodlands, including cultural activities
  • Recycling of wood products and the by-products of wood processing
  • Training and education initiatives related to woodlands
