Latest News and Events

  • Scottish Borders Business Fund (SBBF) - The Council are offering grants on a 50% match funding basis to help support small businesses in the Borders.
  • Shop Front Improvement Scheme - Funding to provide grant support towards repairs and enhancement works to shop fronts in the town centres of the main Border towns.
  • Property Maintenance Trades Awareness Event -  Trade related Contractors are invited to come along to Eildon Mill, Tweedbank on 11th August at 10am to hear how to apply for a new property maintenance trades framework and to understand how it will operate in the future.

Rural Funding

A range of funding is available to help businesses and communities in the Borders. This section will help you find more about accessing grants and loan funding from a variety of sources - direct from the Council, the Scottish Government, Europe or from other initiatives.

Commercial and industrial land and property lists are now available listing sites for sale and to let.

Economic Development and Regeneration

The aim of the Economic Development and Regeneration service is to encourage an active and varied economy in the Scottish Borders.

A list of business related activities that are covered by Council licenses and regulation, a long with instructions on how to apply for permits, licenses etc.

Procurement - Council Contracts and Tender Opportunities

Put simply procurement is about the purchase of goods, works and services needed to deliver services. Within Scottish Borders Council this can range from paperclips to major construction projects. The tourism sector is an important contributor to the region’s economy. The Economic Development team helps to promote what's on offer though out the year and also provides help to businesses and event organisers.
