Additional support needs
Help with school additional support
My child needs additional support at school
We provide many types of additional support for learning to children who are in need. Support can vary and includes advice for parents, changes in teaching methods, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists and adaptations to buildings or equipment.
How does my child get an assessment for additional support?
You can request a specific type of additional support assessment, such as an educational, psychological or medical assessment, at any time.
Should my child have a Co-ordinated Support Plan (CSP)?
A CSP is for children and young people who need significant additional support. If you think your child may require a CSP - you can request an assesment.
Integrated Assessment Framework
This is the Council working in partnership to implement the 'Getting It Right For Every Child' children's policy.
Placement in mainstream schools
Most children can be helped in their mainstream school with extra resources and different ways of learning.
What type of appeal will the Tribunal for Scotland consider?
Decisions and failures about CSPs can be appealed through the Tribunal for Scotland.
