How to complain
We welcome feedback about the service provided by our schools as this helps us to:
- do more of what works well
- take concerns into account in planning for the future
- resolve individual problems and complaints, and use lessons learned to improve our service
If things go wrong:
Informal complaints process
If you have any concerns or queries about any aspect of your child's education, the first step should always be to talk to your child's class teacher or headteacher. They will do their very best to resolve this to your satisfaction.
Making a formal complaint
If you have been unable to resolve your complaint directly with the school, or if you are unable to speak to the school for some reason, you should follow the procedure set out in the leaflet for parents: Resolving Complaints about Schools.
Please note that appeals against exclusions, or about placement requests are dealt with under separate procedures which are detailed on the appropriate webpages.
Complaints relating to additional support for learning are also dealt with through a separate process which is managed by Integrated Children's Services (ICS).
