Curriculum for excellence
Curriculum for excellence aims to help children and young people develop the four capacities of education to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
How are qualifications changing?
New qualifications in literacy and numeracy will be brought in from 2012-13, new qualifications will replace Standard Grade and Intermediate qualifications from 2013-14, Access, Higher and Advanced Higher level will remain, but they will be reviewed to ensure that they reflect the ideas behind Curriculum for Excellence.
What is Scottish Borders approach to the new curriculum?
Each of the six learning communities across the Borders is working with staff, parents, pupils and partners to implement new approaches to learning.

ICT in support for learning
ICT learning tools, such as Scholar and Glow, provide visual explanations and interactive material to aid learning and allow students to continue at their own place, at home.
