The Scottish Borders Children and Young People's Planning Partnership commissioned the first Scottish Borders Young People's Survey in June 2009, with the second survey being completed in May 2010.
This gives secondary school pupils the chance to answer questions on a range of issues including school, safety, health and wellbeing, and use of public services.
The information gathered from the survey has contributed to the evaluation of current services and the planning of new services and learning opportunities.
In 2010 survey there were 2078 responses made by young people in S1 and S3 from all the secondary schools in the Scottish Borders.
The next survey will be carried out in spring 2012 and will then happen on a two year cycle.
