Andrew Lowe

Having originally trained for a career in law, Andrew moved to Scotland in 1974 where he began his social work career with Fife County Council.
Andrew qualified at Dundee University and went on to work for Tayside Region before moving to Nottinghamshire in 1982. He moved to Nottingham City Council as Assistant Director of Adult Services in 1997.
Andrew was made Acting Director of Social Services in 2002 and Director of the Council's Corporate Change and Improvement programme in 2003.
He was appointed to his present post, Director of Social Work at Scottish Borders Council in 2004.
In 2006 Andrew was invited by the Scottish Executive to chair the Changing Lives change programme on Practice Governance.
Andrew is President of the Association of Director's of Social Work.
