Supporting the arts in your school

Creative Learning Networks (CLN) develop the role and impact of creativity within and across the curriculum.

They aim to:

  • champion creativity
  • develop a shared understanding and language around creativity
  • stimulate the development of creativity in learners
  • provide tools for teachers on Glow and The Creativity Portal.

With the first round of funding from Creative Scotland we:

  • developed our Bridge Builders Directory to link schools and community groups with local artists and cultural providers
  • created a Cultural Ambassador network in schools

What are cultural ambassadors?

Cultural ambassadors are a network of teachers who want to keep their schools posted about external arts opportunities, such as theatre and museum visits, training, artists' workshops and grants.

We aim to widen the network and encourage teachers, parents, youth workers, artists and the wider community to get involved. If you are interested in becoming a cultural ambassador please get in touch.

Learning Teaching Scotland is now working in partnership with Creative Scotland to support the development of local networks together with a National Creative Learning Network.
