Catalogue search
The library catalogue (provided by Aquabrowser) includes a single search box, relevance ranking of results, a quick and easy way to limit or refine searches.
Aquabrowser also has a word cloud showing links to related material or topics. We hope you find it useful and fun to use.
Search
- type your query in the text box and click on the Search button
- if you type more than one word to search on the results will include all the words
- the central panel lists your search results ranked by relevance
- click on a result for full details of the item and to see where it is kept
Discover
- a word cloud on the left of the screen shows you related terms, spelling variations and translations
- click on words in the cloud to explore the library catalogue further
Refine
- refine groups you what your search results together
- click on any term to focus your search and narrow your list of results
Advanced catalogue search
With the Vubis Smart advanced search you can combine searches, use predefined searches and look at your own library account.
You can:
- search by a specific field such as author or title
- search by a combination of fields
- include or exclude specific words
- sort your results by author, title or year of publication
It also allows access to your personal record to:
- check your account details
- see what you have out on loan
- view your loan history to see if you have borrowed a book before
- renew items
- place reservations
