Using your library
Library membership forms
Download and print a form to apply for library membership
Libraries are free to join and you are welcome at any age - just ask our library staff for a membership form or download one in advance. You will need to provide proof of ID and age and proof of address. Check what we can accept as proof.
If you do not wish to provide proof of ID in your Library application you can join with a Library Membership card instead of a National Entitlement Card. For this application only proof of age and proof of address are required.
Under 16s must have their forms completed and returned by a parent or guardian. Once your membership has been completed and library staff have registered your details, you will be given your library card and can start using the library services. Each time you visit the library you must bring your library card with you. Your library card is for your own personal use only and must not be used by anyone else.
Visitors
Visitors are welcome to use our libraries. You can use our computers or consult materials in the library.
If you would like to borrow items, or will be using the library regularly for a few weeks you can join as Visitor Member for up to three months. (This can be renewed further if necessary).
To join as a visitor to borrow items you will need to provide proof of your home address. You will not need proof of address to use our computers. Junior visitors (under 16 years of age) must get their parent or guardian to complete a membership form for them and return it to the library in person.
