Grants and funding in the Borders

A range of funding is available to help businesses and communities in the Borders, along with advice on how to access grant or loan funding and other support programmes.

Kelso Townscape Heritage Initative

A grant scheme available for traditional repairs and restoration works to eligible properties, including shop fronts.

LEADER

LEADER is a European Union and Scottish Government funded programme supporting local rural development projects for organisations, businesses, community groups and the wider public.

Lowlands and Uplands Scotland funding

European Social Fund and European Regional Development Fund programmes support small and medium sized businesses and help people into jobs.

Scotland Rural Development Programme

The programme supports economic, environmental and social measures by helping individuals, businesses and groups to deliver the Government's strategic objectives in rural Scotland.

Scottish Borders Business Fund 2011-12

The business fund is available to fund projects from businesses based in the Scottish Borders, They provide financial assistance to new and small businesses (up to 15 employees) and encourage local firms to invest and grow their business.

Shopfront improvement grant scheme

South of Scotland Loan Scheme

The scheme provides gap funding loans for business where there are clear economic benefits for projects to go ahead. Loans between \u00A35,000 and \u00A350,000 are available under the scheme to eligible businesses.

The BIG Lottery Fund

Money is available to community groups and projects that improve health, education and the environment.

VisitScotland Growth Fund

The fund can provide support with 50% of approved total marketing costs and is for new or further development of current activity which will generate additional visitors to Scotland.
