Application form for Empty Property Relief
Could I be eligible?
If your business property is unoccupied and unfurnished (except for plant machinery and equipment), you may not have to pay rates for the first 3 months. Thereafter a 50% rate charge will take effect (unless the property is exempt).
How do I apply?
If you would like to apply for relief from Business Rates on the basis that your property is empty, you should download the application form, print it out, and fill it in.
Then you should return it along with any supporting information to your nearest contact centre, or send it direct to Customer Services.
