Consolidated Structure Plan
The Consolidated Structure Plan provides the long term vision and strategy for the Scottish Borders.
SESplan
The SESplan is the Stategic Development Plan for the Scottish Borders area
The Structure Plan forms part of the Development Plan and provides the long term vision and strategy for the Scottish Borders. It also provides an overview of the development needs in our area.
The Structure Plan establishes the overall supply of land that is required for a range of uses, for example housing and employment. The Local Plan must conform with the development strategy shown in the Structure Plan.
Current Structure Plan
The Structure Plan approved in 2002 has gone through an alteration, mainly focused on housing issues. The alteration was approved by Scottish Ministers in June 2009. The New Way Forward Structure Plan consolidated the following documents:
- Structure Plan (2002)
- Woodland Strategy
- Structure Plan Alteration (2009).
SESplan
As part of the changes in the Scottish planning system brought in place, there is a requirement for the Edinburgh City Region to produce a Strategic Development Plan.
This plan will set out a vision for the long term development of the city region and includes City of Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian, East Lothian, Fife and the Scottish Borders.
