Help with your council tax
If you are on a low income or in receipt of Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance (Income based) or Pension Credit you may qualify for a reduction in your council tax. You can apply even if you own your own home.
Help with your rent
If you are on a low income or in receipt of Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance (Income based) or Pension Credit you may qualify for help towards rent which you pay.
Pension Credit
Pension Credits were introduced in October 2003 and mean you could get extra money. If you qualify you may also get Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit.
If you are aged 60 or over and have not already applied you should contact the Pension Service to make an application.
