There are a number of voluntary organisations in the Scottish Borders which provide community transport services. Some exist only for this purpose whilst others provide the service along with a range of associated services.
We provide some grant funding to these organisations.
Community transport takes two forms:
- Group hire of vehicle to affiliated organisations
- Provision of cars and drivers under the Social Car scheme for residents meeting certain criteria, generally to meet medical appointments.
