If you are aged five or over and qualify under the disability criteria you can apply for a National Entitlement Card (NEC) which gives you free travel on buses throughout Scotland.
How to apply
You will have to fill in a form which you can get and return to any contact centre.
Return your completed form along with:
- passport style photograph
- proof of your address
- proof of your entitlement to the card
- proof of your age (if you are between 11 and 26)
Proof of age (only if you are aged between 11 and 26)
The following documents can be used:
- birth certificate
- passport
- photo driving licence
Proof of address
The following documents can be used:
- bank or building society statement dated within the past three months
- child benefit award letter
- Council Tax bill for the current year
- current television licence
- gas, electricity or landline phone bill dated within the past three months
Entitlement
Some of the criteria is listed below:
- receive attendance allowance
- hold a blue badge
- receive higher rate of mobility component of disability living allowance
- receive higher or middle rate of care component of disability living allowance
- profoundly or severely deaf
- registered blind or partially sighted
- receive war pensions constant attendance allowance
You must provide proof of your entitlement that is dated within the last 12 months.
