Youth Chex Project

Young people now have the opportunity to apply for grant assistance and turn their ideas into reality. Judged by young people for young people, no-matter the idea, if its viable we'll look at it!

Ever considered opening up your own business, running your own shop, or starting your own Band? Well now is your chance. Youth Chex is a new project that puts you in charge by providing the opportunity for young creative people to turn their ideas into reality.

Grant applications are open to any individual aged between 12 and 25 or a group of individuals within this same age group. Judged by youth, for youth, a full checklist of entry criteria is available.

Here are a few ideas to set the ball rolling:

Skate park
Bike track
Rehearsal base, bands
Social Enterprise start-up costs
Bird-watching
Camping space
Events, discos etc.
School tuck shop
Days out
Renovating project building
Renovating waste land
Conservation projects
Community or wild-life gardens
Improving the park or other nearby open space
Ensuring paths or 'rights of way' are maintained
Community transport schemes
Community café/ shops
Community food co-operatives
Recycling
Public art including murals, statues or street mosaics
