Selected paintings and prints by Joan Eardley RSA. Also photos by Audrey Walker whose work documents Joan's life and show her talent for seeing a good picture.

In Old Gala House.

A selection of paintings and prints by the renown Scottish artist, Joan Eardley and her friend and photographer, Audrey Walker.  Eardley's prtrayal of Glasgow street urchins first brought her work to public attentiion in the 1950s, but it was her loce of the tiny fishing village of Catterline, near Aberdeen where she found artistic fulfilment.  A member of the Royal Scottish Academy, Joan met Audrey, a talented violinist through their shared interest in music in 1952. 

Audrey documented Joan at work at her family holidy home near Selkirk, Joan's Glasgow studio and in Catterline and her photographs make up a remarkable archive of the artist's life and also show Audrey's great talent for seeing a good picture.
