Reminiscences from people who lived through the war years in Galashiels and nearby villages. Includes small collection of photos and objects.

This project aims to encourage reminiscence from people who lived through the war years in Galashiels and nearby villages and to record these memories through oral history.

There will be a small exhibition of photographs and objects in the Library, with a selection of 'make do and mend' activities for visitors to try out.  Children will find fun, themed learning activities, including a Snakes and Ladders game based on the 'Home Front'. 

There will be two special 'Reminiscence Evenings' as well as a talk on War in Galashiels by local historian Walter Elliot on 3 August.
