Scottish Local History Week
Local History Week is organised as a national event in Scotland to provide local Libraries with an opportunity to mount exhibitions and organise lectures and other activities relating to the Local History of their area. The purpose of this annual event is to raise the profile of Local History at a local and national level. The theme for Local History Week 2008, to coincide with the 500th anniversary of printing in Scotland, is "Newspapers and Printing". Local History Week 2008 is co-ordinated by the LOCSCOT, a sub-group of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals Local Studies Group.

Kelso "Work in print - a celebration of Kelso's contribution to 500 years of printing in Scotland"A partnership exhibition focussing on the Kelso Mail. Contributors include Friends of Kelso Museum, Kelso and District Amenity Society, Heritage Hub and Scottish Borders Library and Information Services. Free, usual Library opening hours "Kelso Poetry" Any poetry relating to or printed in Kelso, please bring along your favourite to share.
