The Scottish Borders Community Safety Partnership, through our Domestic Abuse Working Group, will be supporting and promoting this campaign across the Scottish Borders for a two week period commencing on Monday, 26th November 2007. Throughout this fortnight we aim to collect 2007 pledges from men in the Scottish Borders.
They decided that wearing a white ribbon would be a symbol of men’s opposition to men’s violence against women. Since 1991 the campaign has grown and is now renowned and supported worldwide, with the UK branch of WRC starting in 2004 and the Scottish Campaign in 2006.
The White Ribbon Campaign will be launched at the Domestic Abuse? Just Ask! Conference on 19th November 2007, Tweed Horizons by David Hume, Chief Executive, Scottish Borders Council.
