A Touring Exhibition in conjunction with the Collins Gallery Recycled materials in an exploratory exhibition by 11 members of a group of Scottish Applied Artists working in glass, ceramic, metalwork, paper and textiles.
‘It’s not just about re-cycling and waste, it’s about being creative with what little we have. Currently it is fashionable to think of green issues in terms of “saving the planet” – always an important issue and not one to be disregarded, however, the group have worked together to recycle ideas and to recognise the potential of our existing practice from so many new angles that the word “green” takes on the aspect of new and fresh interpretation and extends the possibilities of the nature of our materials.’ Tweeddale Museum was established by William Chambers, the founder of the famous publishing house. His aim was to create a centre of learning in his home town. The museum and gallery present a lively and diverse programme of exhibitions in this historic building throughout the year. Opening times: Monday to Friday 10 - 12 and 2 - 5pm Saturday 10 - 1 and 2 - 4pm |
