Imagine being a Roman soldier sent to a far-flung outpost of the empire …or one of the “Caledonian” tribespeople of the Scottish lowlands under military occupation.
SBC Museum & Gallery Service presents a touring exhibition and learning project for 2007/8 on the theme of the Romans’ presence in the Borders. Using Roman artefacts, aerial photography, loan collections, replicas and set reconstructions, this exhibition will explore military and civilian life in the Borders, between the landmarks of Hadrian’s Wall and the Antonine Wall. A series of formal education activity days and holiday workshops will also be on offer. Watch press for detailsor contact 01750 20096 for further details.
