Join Laura Aitken and the SBC Archaeology Officer Rory McDonald for the last in a series of lively and informative historical walks. Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Scottish Borders, you’ll learn about the area’s rich archaeological past in the company of friendly folk.
Learn about some of the history of this ancient town. Starting at Kelso Abbey we’ll head toward Old Roxburgh and take a trip through history. This walk is 4.5km (2.5 miles) and can be over some rough ground and slight hills. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes as Scottish weather can be so unpredictable. We always recommend bringing water and this will be especially important during the summer months. Children and young people under 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Why not join us to do something fun and enrich both your body and your mind! Forget “no pain no gain” - walking is a gentle form of exercise that does not create stress in your joints and muscles, but gets you fit!
