Walk the second section of the Borders Abbeys Way over Black Law to Bedrule and Denholm, then following the River Teviot.
A good opportunity to see a variety of wildlife. A total distance of 13 miles/ 21 kms, total ascent 1300ft/ 400m. No dogs. Free transport to start of walk. Meet at the Teviotdale Leisure Centre Car Park, Hawick (NT 505153). This walk is strenuous, involving steep climbs or with physically demanding activities. Under 13s must be accompanied by an adult. Starting times for the events will be strictly adhered to, but finishing times are approximate. The starting points are indicated by a six - figure grid reference. The approximate time involved for each activity is given. The leader will turn out irrespective of weather conditions. The decision whether or not to proceed will be made at that time. For the hikes it is essential that you bring a packed lunch and that you are well equipped for hill walking. Clothing should include a good pair of walking boots and warm and waterproof clothing (jacket/ trousers). Gloves and balaclava, whistle and torch, a hot drink, spare pair of socks and jersey and emergency rations should be carried in a rucksack or similar, especially during the winter months. |
