Bureaucracy gone mad. An artificial language is introduced into an organisation in order to streamline office communication. Result: a complete breakdown of human relationships. The unstoppable force of bureaucratic absurdity is captured in this lethally comic satire. The play may have grown out of Czech communism but the signs of madness revealed in Havel's masterpiece are instantly recognisable to all of us in everyday life. Adult theatre - Comic satire Suitable for 12 years and over. Promoted by Scottish Borders Council Arts Development. Running time: est. 2 hours 30 minutes (including interval) |
