Local Action Fund
What's it all about?
The Local Action Fund was initially established by the Scottish Executive for localised action to provide services, projects
and activities for young people. Projects should aim to increase participation by young people in constructive and relevant
activities. The overall objectives of the scheme include, a reduction in youth related call to the emergency services, a
reduction in perceived youth crime from the community and an increase in the satisfaction of young people.
How much is available?
The Community Safety Partnership has allocated £5,000 to provide a small grants fund for projects under £500.
How can it be used?
The scheme is fully flexible and can be used for revenue or capital funding. Project applications should be developed in
conjunction with young people and should seek to encourage their active involvement.
Who is the scheme for?
Applications are invited from public sector bodies, community and voluntary groups. The preferred age range is 8-16.
