Bogus Caller Awareness Drama Sessions

The Community Safety Forum have joined forces with Lothian and Borders Police, The Fire Service, Bordercare and Trading Standards to raise awareness to members of the public in their fight against bogus callers and workmen

During April 2005 a number of drama sessions were delivered within Day Care Centres across the Borders.  The aims of these sessions were:

  • to raise public awareness to unwelcome bogus callers
  • to highlight the various methods which bogus callers employ to gain entry
  • to explain the measures householders should follow to enable them to remain safe in their own home.

The advice we are given out is Be Safe - Be Sure

  • Use your door chain if you have one
  • Check for identification
  • Telephone 01450 375051 if you suspect or wish to report anyone acting suspiciously.
  • If in doubt - keep them out
